Well it is official... at least on the calendar. I am RETIRED!!!! When I say, on the calendar, it's because in my head it still does not feel like I am retired. It's only been one week which feels like a vacation rather than a permanent thing. I am not sure how long it will take me to actually feel like I am retired. Maybe when I get all my 'to-do's' done!
So far, in the last seven days I have been to our local Hobby Lobby three times! I know right? Seriously. But in my defense I got a couple of gift certificates for there for Christmas so I had money to burn and yarn and fabric to purchase!
I think I have been very conservative in my purchases... I mean I need to save some money back for more yarn you know. But saying that comes to this funny conversation I had with my husband.
We were talking about me buying yarn and I said, you know, I need to buy more because I really don't have a stash of yarn. He gave me a smirky look. "What?" I replied, "I don't have a stash of yarn."
"What are you talking about? What is all that yarn in your craft cabinets downstairs?" He countered.
"That's not a stash, those are leftovers!" I replied indignant. "There are only two sets of complete skeins in there for two projects I am planning on, a sweater for you and a sweater for one of the granddaughters."
"Well, all the leftovers are still a stash, aren't they?"
"Oh no, that is totally different, those are leftovers! They get used for small projects, nothing official."
He smirked again until I reminded him, "Then what do you call the leftovers of lumber you keep all around the garage?"
"Those are for projects that may come up."
"A stash of lumber then." It was my turn to smirk.
"No, not a stash...oh..."
He got my point. Now we don't tease each other any more about our stashes.
My stash... this is the yarn part....
