Everything old is new again the saying goes and that is really true when it comes to knitting and crocheting. I am now planning on making myself a poncho out of Hobby Lobby Yarn So Soft denium and dark blue yarns. But first, I have been charged with making leg warmers! Remember those? They were very popular in the 1990's when everyone was doing yoga and exercise videos!
Well, they are actually kinda nice to wear you know. Your legs get warm and with fabric getting thinner and thinner these days, you need a little extra on your legs anyway! So along with the poncho which I haven't begun yet, the orange and yellow-red sweater I have the front and back finished but not the sleeves yet, I am now knitting leg warmers. Too bad I didn't think of this months ago so I could make everyone a pair for Christmas!
Pictures coming soon! Last night my husband and I went with our daughter and her three daughters to our town's Christmas parade starting the Christmas anticipation season. It was 27 degrees out with a wind chill of 18 and the sun had just gone down. It was a little cold! But we had the girls bundled up in Grammy's homemade scarves, hats, mittens! So they stayed warm. I wished I had already made up some adult sized leg warmers! My youngest granddaughter who is 21 months old was wrapped in two blankets and snuggled on my lap as we watched the highly decorated fire trucks go by and the bands playing. She loved it!
